Kim Smith, PT is the owner of Onsite Work Solutions. Since graduating from the Medical University of SC, she has worked for nearly 30 years helping people recover from musculoskeletal injuries. She has special training in orthopedic rehabilitation and work injury management, including functional job analysis, functional capacity evaluations, and ergonomics. For more than 15 years, she has helped employers prevent and manage work injuries at the worksite.
While most physical therapists prefer the cleanliness and the traditional work hours of a clinic setting, Kim chooses to work only in occupational settings in order to best meet the needs of employees and employers. Industrial physical therapists like Kim know that effective injury prevention and management programs must be integrated into the workplace. Through her consulting business, Onsite Work Solutions, she works in heavy industrial, light industrial, and in office environments. Some of the settings in which she has worked include automotive, fiberglass molding, furniture (upholstery and case goods), footwear, textiles, warehouses and office environments.
Onsite Work Solutions provides early intervention, ergonomic assessments, and return to work services at Sypris Technologies and Molded FiberGlass NC in Morganton. Consultant services are also provided to manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities of Shurtape Technologies, based in Hickory. In addition, Kim presents educational programs on topics such as musculoskeletal injury prevention, work injury management, and ergonomics to other employers as well as safety and allied health groups.
Onsite Work Solutions can help you meet the needs of your company by helping plan and implement specific or comprehensive work prevention and work injury management programs.
